At Beeswax Bay Farm, we’re firm believers in letting nature take centre stage. From the gentle golden hue of traditional beeswax to the soft tones of white and the depth of natural black, our candles celebrate simplicity, quality, and authenticity.
While we don’t personally colour the wax ourselves, we work closely with trusted suppliers who specialise in creating beautiful shades of beeswax using natural techniques - so you can enjoy variety without compromising on purity.
In a world where artificial additives lurk in everything from food to fragrance, beeswax remains a breath of fresh air. Pure beeswax is:
✔ Toxin-free
✔ Naturally aromatic
✔ Long-burning
✔ Air-purifying
Choosing naturally coloured and scented beeswax means you’re opting for a product that’s safer for your home and the planet. No harsh chemicals. No synthetic dyes. Just good, honest craftsmanship.
We source beeswax in a range of tones, such as:
✔ Classic yellow – the beeswax everyone knows and loves, rich in natural honey aroma
✔ Filtered white – clean and elegant, ideal for weddings, gifts, and minimalist interiors
✔ Natural black – often achieved through infusions such as charcoal, ideal for meditation or rituals
Our beeswax is responsibly filtered and gently handled to retain all its beneficial properties. Even the white wax isn’t bleached - it’s naturally filtered by our suppliers using traditional methods.
While we don’t add colour ourselves, here’s how our suppliers typically create tinted beeswax (always using natural methods):
✔ Charcoal or ash – for deeper grey and black tones
✔ Clay and minerals – to create soft earthy hues
✔ Filtration – to lighten wax without removing its natural character
This means you get a lovely range of beeswax candles that are naturally derived and beautifully safe.
Now here’s where we do have our hand in the pot! We hand-pour all our candles using 100% pure beeswax from Devon, and we also offer scented ranges made with carefully selected essential oils.
Beeswax on its own carries a subtle, sweet honey aroma - but when paired with essential oils, it becomes something truly special.
Each batch of scented beeswax candles is hand-poured by us, and infused with essential oils that are known for their soothing, uplifting or calming effects.
Popular combinations include:
✔ Lavender & Chamomile – perfect for sleep and stress relief
✔ Peppermint & Eucalyptus – fresh and invigorating
✔ Orange & Clove – warm, spicy and festive
✔ Sandalwood & Geranium – grounding and gentle
We never use synthetic fragrance oils - only pure essential oils blended in carefully balanced proportions to enhance the beeswax without overpowering it.
When we pour our candles, the essential oils are added at just the right temperature to preserve their therapeutic benefits. The wax is stirred gently to ensure even distribution, then poured slowly and mindfully into each mould or jar.
After curing for 24–48 hours:
✔ Wicks are trimmed
✔ Wax is polished
✔ Fragrance is tested for consistency and throwIt’s slow crafting at its finest, and each candle is checked individually before being wrapped and sent out.
Beyond their soft glow and lovely scent, beeswax candles are packed with benefits:
✔ Naturally purify the air by releasing negative ions
✔ Burn longer and cleaner than paraffin
✔ Safe for people with asthma or allergies
✔ Add an elegant, rustic touch to any room
At Beeswax Bay Farm, every candle begins with a commitment to purity. While we may not colour wax ourselves, we ensure that every coloured candle we stock is created naturally and responsibly by artisans who share our values.
And when it comes to scent? That’s all us - lovingly blended by hand in our Warwickshire workshop, so you can enjoy a candle that’s as safe and soulful as it is beautiful.
